Over more than three decades, the Institute of Measurement Science of the Slovak Academy of Sciences has gradually developed and supplied automated reactor vessel tilt measurement systems for all currently operating units at the Mochovce and Jaslovské Bohunice nuclear power plants. These measurement systems use the principles of hydrostatic leveling and pendametry with optoelectronic sensing of the measured values, with a measurement resolution of 1 µm for liquid level height and pendameter suspension displacement. At present, the measurement systems installed on five reactors at Mochovce and Jaslovské Bohunice are in continuous operation and require highly qualified maintenance and regular calibration. In accordance with the standards of the quality management system ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 19433, these activities are provided by the staff of the Institute of Measurement Science SAS, public research institution.
In 2025, we successfully completed the demanding certification process of our workplace according to the above standards, and in the public tender announced by Slovenské elektrárne, a.s., we succeeded in winning the contract for the calibration and maintenance of the functionality of these measurement systems for a three-year period.
