The Institute of Measurement of the Slovak Academy of Sciences is seeking a postdoctoral researcher or an experienced researcher to join the Department of Theoretical Methods.

 

We welcome candidates with expertise in applied data science, machine learning, AI, biomedical engineering, or related fields whose interests align with the research profile of the department’s rrLab (see https://rrsav1.synology.me/rrLab/).

Applicants may join the existing team and pursue their own research that is relevant to the lab’s theoretical and methodological focus.

 

The main research topics of the lab include:

  • Virtual reality BCI (VR-BCI) — virtual‑reality–based brain–computer interfaces for post‑stroke rehabilitation
  • EEG analysis and computational neuroscience
  • Machine learning and AI

Requirements

 

Education Level

PhD or equivalent

 

Specific Requirements

Applicants should have:

  • PhD qualification — a PhD in applied mathematics, statistics, computer science, biomedical engineering, or a related field
  • Independent research ability — demonstrated ability to conduct independent research
  • Data‑analysis experience — experience with statistical data analysis or computational methods
  • Publication potential — strong potential for high‑quality scientific publications
  • English proficiency — good command of English
  • Programming skills — programming skills in Python, MATLAB, or similar languages

The gross monthly base salary is determined by the applicable public research salary scale, depending on qualifications and seniority. The base salary ranges from EUR 1,639 to EUR 2,297.50 and may be supplemented by substantial additional remuneration, depending on agreement, research performance, and involvement in funded projects and grants.
