The Institute of Measurement Science at the Slovak Academy of Sciences is actively seeking a distinguished and highly motivated scientist with expertise in the field of mathematical statistics.
This position calls for a established researcher at the R3 level, funded through the “Stipends for excellent researchers R2-R4” initiative under the Recovery Plan for Europe scheme. The appointment is for a fixed term of up to 2 years.
The primary responsibilities will involve conducting exceptional, independent research in mathematical statistics with the objective of advancing knowledge, specifically emphasizing applications in measurement science (IMS SAS is focused on ECG, EEG, NMR and other measurements of physical and biomedical objects). These applications encompass a range of topics, including measurement uncertainty analysis, nonparametric and multivariate methods, stochastic processes, and the fusion of information from diverse sources. - Conduct high-quality research centered on specific topics to drive advancements in the field of mathematical statistics.
- Provide mentorship to PhD candidates and visiting students as needed.
- Actively participate in other research endeavors conducted at IMS SAS.
- Effectively disseminate research outcomes to both the scientific community and the general public.
- Publish original findings in highly impactful journals.
