In the Department of Optoelectronic Measurement Methods of the Institute of Measurement of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, a measurement system for automated measurement of the change in the tilt of the reactor vessel of the third unit of the Mochovce nuclear power plant was developed and put into continuous operation together with the third unit of the Mochovce nuclear power plant. This measurement system uses the principle of hydronivelisation and pendametry with optoelectronic sensing of measured values with a resolution of 1 µm for the measurement of the level and the displacement of the pendameter hinge. The tilt measurement system was in continuous operation during the test procedures, fuel loading, physical and power start-up of Unit 3 and contributes to the improvement of the safety standards of the operation of the Mochovce nuclear power plant.
