Max. number of students: 1
Study language: Slovak/English

Annotation:
Research of methods and development of computer algorithms for expressing and calculating uncertainties in measurement, with emphasis on Monte Carlo simulation methods and numerical inversion methods of the characteristic functions of the associated probability distributions. These methods and algorithms will be compared to existing metrological procedures and will then be applied to real data analysis, including uncertainty analysis of measurement results. Prerequisites for successful study are basic knowledge of measurement methods and metrology, probability and statistics and programming in R and Matlab environment. As part of the study, the PhD student will gain extensive knowledge and competence in the field of mathematical modeling of measurement processes and analysis of measurement uncertainties based on statistical and metrological principles.
