The Institute of Measurement Science of the Slovak Academy of Sciences seeks a distinguished and highly motivated scientist in the field of mathematical statistics with focus on electrophysiological data analysis by blind source separation methods.
This position calls for a established researcher at the R2 level, funded through the „Stipends for excellent researchers R2-R4“ initiative under the Recovery Plan for Europe scheme. The appointment is for a fixed term of up to 2 years.
The primary responsibilities will involve conducting exceptional, independent research in mathematical statistics with the objective of advancing knowledge in electrophysiological data analysis. These applications encompass a range of topics, including blind source separation methods and machine learning approaches. We anticipate that the selected candidate:
- Conduct high-quality research centered on specific topics to drive advancements in the field of mathematical statistics.
- Provide mentorship to bachelor and master students as needed.
- Actively participate in other research endeavors conducted at IMS SAS.
- Effectively disseminate research outcomes to both the scientific community and the general public.
- Publish original findings in highly impactful journals.
The successful candidate will be awarded a fellowship through the „Stipends for excellent researchers R2-R4“ program under the Recovery Plan for Europe scheme.
An R2-level researcher typically receives a gross monthly salary of €3,138 plus other benefits (€1,104 social and health insurance paid by the employer).
This fellowship includes supplementary funds for research expenses (€1,300 per month of the project) and indirect cost (up to €636).
The project’s duration ranges from 12 to 24 months and must conclude no later than June 30, 2026.
