The Institute of Measurement Science of the Slovak Academy of Sciences seeks a distinguished and highly motivated scientist in the field of applied mathematics with computational and cognitive neuroscience expertise focused on brain-computer interface development for post-stroke rehabilitation.
This position calls for a established researcher at the R4 level, funded through the „Stipends for excellent researchers R2-R4“ initiative under the Recovery Plan for Europe scheme. The appointment is for a fixed term of up to 2 years.
The primary responsibilities will be the team leadership of a research group focused on computational and cognitive neuroscience topics oriented to post-stroke motor and cognitive rehabilitation. A priority will be given to developing advanced brain-computer interface methodology for motor rehabilitation.
We anticipate that the selected candidate:
- Has an international reputation based on research excellence
- Demonstrates critical judgment in the identification and execution of research activities
- Makes a substantial contribution (breakthroughs) to their research field or spans multiple areas
- Develops a strategic vision of the future of the research field
- Recognizes the broader implications and applications of their research
The successful candidate will be awarded a fellowship through the „Stipends for excellent researchers R2-R4“ program under the Recovery Plan for Europe scheme.
An R4-level researcher typically receives a gross monthly salary of €3,990 plus other benefits (€1,406 social and health insurance paid by the employer).
This fellowship includes supplementary funds for research expenses (€1,300 per month of the project), indirect cost (up to €1,484), and personnel expenses for the research team (up to €4,500 per month).
The project’s duration ranges from 12 to 24 months and must conclude no later than June 30, 2026.
