Thyreomat - Device for Assesment of Peripheral Parameters of Thyroid Gland

Thyreomat system Thermomat device Thyreomat device

Thyreomat is measuring and evaluation system designed to serve in clinical practice as a tool for assessment of selected functional parameters of the thyroid gland. It is applicable in clinical endocrinology, cardiology, neurology and sports and occupational medicine in any circumstances where a thyroid functional diagnosis is called for in relation to the endocrinological, cardiovascular, neuromuscular and thermoregular or, possibly, the metabolic systems. It consists of a set of non-invasive sensors of physiological variables which are connected to an evaluation unit controlled by microcomputer or personal computer. The set of peripheral indicators is obtained by processing of measured biosignals and includes systolic time intervals, radiant heat, superficial temperature, heart rate and time intervals from achillogram. All these parameters are presented on computer screen in numerical and graphical form. The values of the peripheral indicators are used in diagnosis and in deciding whether a therapeutic intervention is needed.

The arrangement of the measuring system is shown in figures. The set of sensors for the cardiovascular system includes contact transducer LM430 for phonocardiogram, chamber transducer LMP430 for pulse wave and electrodes for standard limb leads of electrocardiogram. These sensors are connected to the so called patient terminal which contains preamplifiers for electrocardiogram, carotidogram and phonocardiogram. Sensors for sole movement during Achilles tendon reflex and for radiant heat are stand-alone units connected directly to the evaluation unit.
