Based on proposal of the management and Scientific Board of the Institute of Measurement Science SAS, Presidium of Slovak Academy of Sciences awarded Mr. Andrej Kulišov the Memmorial Plaquette of SAS. The Plaquette will be presented to him on October 9, 2009 at his 50th anniversary by pre vicepresident od SAS Dr. Juraj Lapin. The event will be attended by delegates of the management of IMS SAS.

The 18th International Workshop on Matrices and Statistics (IWMS 2009), endorsed by the International Linear Algebra Society, has been held in Smolenice Castle, Slovakia, from 23 to 27 of June 2009.
The IWMS 2009 has been a continuation of a long-running series of Workshops with the purpose of stimulating exchanges of ideas and research at the interfaces of matrix theory, statistics, and stochastic processes. With 57 participated scholars from 14 countries, the scientific program of IWMS 2009 included 11 invited lectures and 42 contributed talks and posters. The 7th International Conference on Measurement organized by the Institute of Measurement Science was held in Smolenice Castle, Slovakia, from May 20 to 23, 2009. The scientific program was concentrated to three main areas: theoretical problems of measurement, measurement of physical quantities and measurement in biology and medicine.

The Winter Workshop on Mathematical Statistics Bratislava 2008, organized by the Institute of Measurement Science, will be held in Bratislava (at the Small Congress Center VEDA), Slovakia, from 15 to 16 of December 2008. New method is result of cooperation with Austrian colleagues. Today it is used by all major anti-doping laboratories in the world. |

The 6th International Conference Measurement 2007 was held since 20th May until 24th May 2007. The venue of the Conference was Congress Centre Smolenice of the Slovak Academy of Sciences at the Smolenice Castle.

At the end of the year 2006 all contracts regarding the 6FP project Phelinet were signed and the project solution has started.
Coordinator from the Claude Bernard University, Lyon, informed us, that the deposit payment in an amount of 80% of resources planned for year 2007 for researchers from the Department of Imaging Methods was transfered on account of the Institute.
