Imaging of Micro- and Nanostructures Based on Magnetic Resonance for Biomedical and Material Research |
Project of the scientific grant agency VEGA 2/0142/08
Period: 01/2008 - 12/2010
Project leader: Prof. Ing. Ivan Frollo, DrSc.
The project summary
The goal of the project is a basic research in the domain of selected imaging methods based on nuclear magnetic resonance with orientation to imaging of micro and nano structures for biomedical and material research: The main topics are:
- Imaging methods of selected biological and non-biological materials.
- Study of properties of ferromagnetic nanoparticles dispersions as contrast media, preparation and testing of nanoparticles ferrofluids for NMR imaging.
- Study of magnetic susceptibility effects in micro Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
- Design and creation of pulse sequences for projection (radial) acquisition for MRI.
- Research in the domain of measurement and imaging of stationary magnetic fields and RF fields. Research of phase unwrapping methods for magnetic field inhomogeneities measurement.
